a beautiful mix of speedcore, breakcore, harsh noise, and pure, refined shit. the name fits well. the lyrics and musical style changes throughout the album immensely, and by the end of the album he is just screaming like he is in immense pain while sampling dirty rap, with heavy distortion on everything. i love it.
Audio Sample (again, NSFW, as it displays the cover art.)
some great glitch, in a vain similar to richard devine, mixing sound design with noise with harsh glitch music. very cinematic in sound, and high in production quality. many of the albums by this artist are free on his site, this album being one of the few exceptions. visit his site at www.accesstoarasaka.com, it is quite a neat site, too ^_^
here is some classic (and classy) aphex-esque idm (the artist was/is friends with richard (d) james, from what i have heard). all song on this album are great, and many (with a few drum-machine exceptions) show a great amount of effort splicing and juggling and destroying old funk loops. this album is a wonderful example of what some early english idm was like, and why it was so great :)
some intense braindance from france (that rhymed!)
not as entirely loop focused as some other artists, doc colibri tends to use more drum machines and glitchy device sounds, along with samples from french media, to make his music. his tracks ("danse avec les nains" in particular) even involve him giving his own freakish take on the genre of dubstep. very much worth the download, which you can get/stream legally for free from over here!
igorrr's second feature here, this album has less death metal influences (though it still has the occasional growling voice), drawing more on the complex drum programming of braindance artists like the flashbulb and venetian snares, but throwing in classical elements and instruments as well. very different then the other album, but still very enjoyable!
i dunno this album maybe has THE BEST NAME EVER? and i am using caps, which is kinda a big deal. anyways, the music itself is a nice blend of breakcore and death metal, it's what the kids these days would call "totally hardcore, dudeeee".
breakcore/raggacore with a great sense of humour and some wonderful beat juggling and amen break abuse. also check out shitmats ep, "killababylonkutz ep", in which every song is based off the same generic ragga sample.
reminds me a bit of igorrr, noisy, harsh, metal influenced breakcore, this time with some speedcore flair. do not watch the video below if you are epileptic. please.
i personally love this album cover so freaking much. but its not just the cover. inside, there is an album structured not unlike that of drukqs by aphex twin, harsh and coarse breakbeats surrounded by lush soundscapes and minimalist acoustic solo tracks. however, there are some distinctions. the acoustic tracks are varied, one of them being a stringed instrument plucked with painfully strong dynamics (read: the strings gonna snap), others feature pretty ambient wind instruments and textures. the tracks with breaks are often orchestral, often creepy, and always have amazing rhythm (and odd times, of course. you know how much i love me some odd time signatures). i have heard the album as a whole described by someone on the internet as "music to murder someone to".
p.s. this song is in 10/8, just like the famous theme of "mission impossible" :3
a very nice introduction to drill n' bass, with incorporation of live instruments like pianos and live drums. very detailed work, and the origination of the famous "lawn wake" series of songs, with a lead with a level of harshness reminiscent of a dentist's drill.
this blog's second hrvatski album, and thusly it's first repeat feature (i like hrvatski, k?). from the adorable text to speech song "vatstep dsp" to the atmospheric scaryness that lurks throughout the album, this is really a piece you have to listen through from the beginning.
