(very!) glitchy hip-hop music, occasionally featuring a very interesting style of highly processed and sliced rapping, where words are almost indistinguishable because of the individual grains being thrown around all over the place. listen to the track below to see what i mean :)

Ground Zero - Revolutionary Pekinese Opera Version 1.28
japanese harsh-noise/sound-collage/free-improvisation band. there hasn't been any harsh noisy music on here for a while (if ever), so i think its about time that i introduce some non-melodic music to you all :)
dont blow your speakers out... a rule of thumb when listening to noise music, whether your medium be studio monitors, 200 dollar headphones, or a cheap pair of ipod buds, is that you should start with the volume on 0 and slowly move up until it is at a comfortable level, being sure to leave headroom in case there is anyone change in dynamics (when the music suddenly changes volume, which happens quite a bit in noise music)
heed my advice, i have messed up many speakers in my time i have spent listening (and making!) to this sort of music, i know better ;)
ps the youtube video below is one of the least noisy tracks on the album, don't get this album and expect to be treated to an (easily) understandable melody/beat throughout!

Animal Collective - Feels
"hey cuttlefish (my musicname), i thought you said you weren't gonna make another hipster post..."
"yes, but, you see, animal collective is not hipster, it is awesome music that hipsters just happen to sometimes like too, so, uh, FUCK YOUUUUUUUUU"
feels is an album which might sound funny to you (at least, more funny than the usual animal collective freak folk would sound weird to you), and this is because all the instruments are very slightly untuned from the traditional twelve tones we are used to hearing. it sounds better than i am describing it just trust me.

Brian Eno - Ambient 1: Music for Airports
eno has been posted here once before, but that was when he was still doing glam rock and such... this is one of the most classic ambient albums ever made, and it is pretty much impossible not to relax to it :p
it was created to be played in airports, where eno described the atmosphere as "tense and non-inspiring", so it is supposed to be calming and unobtrusive, which i think he certainly accomplished!

Björk - Vespertine
hey, it is officially noise daily's 100th post!
and you know what that means: björk.
those who know me at all know i am a bit of a björk freak, so i am actually surprised i managed to wait until now to post any albums by her, but i felt the 100th post was a big enough occasion to bring her up :)
if you have never heard the magic of björk, this is a good place to start. everyone else; why dont you have her discography, hmm? :P
just joking! björk is sort of one of those artists you either love or hate, along with several other artists i have posted before, so don't feel bad if it ain't your thing (i personally dont love radiohead, for example).
alright, now before you listen, let me take the time to give myself a plug for my irc chatroom, where all noise daily readers (and other weirdos) hang out:

i go by the username "stelpa" there :)

Plone - For Beginner Piano
sadly, this is plone's only album, as one of the three members died of cancer several years after the creating of this album, and the group then disbanded. rumor has it that they had a second album, which was never released, but somehow leaked onto the internet after the break up.
anyways, this music is rather cheery and analog, almost childish sounding, made mostly with vintage keyboards and fx. the composition is wonderful, and it makes me all warm inside. my only complaint is that it only runs for around half an hour :s

Leo Ornstein - Piano Music
something special for you tonight!
a pioneer in experimental composition, leo ornstein used tone clusters, large masses of contiguous notes well known from the wide use of classical great henry cowell, to their widest extent. his pieces can range from the peaceful serenity of classical sonatas to brutal and technically demanding pieces with titles like "suicide on an airplane". very worth the listen, the discord is stupendous!

Autchre - Tri Repeatae++
crap, sorry i keep missing days, things are distracting >_<
anyways, today we've got a relatively popular glitch artist that most electronic music fans either love or hate (i tend to be the former). a mixture of glitchy digital noise, break beats rhythms, and occasional dance music influences, autechre somehow manages to be rather slow and minimalistic (a la steve reich, repeating shifting rhythms abound!) without becoming monotonous. i chose this album from their somewhat large discography because i found it the simplest to get into, because of its constant tempos, catchy basslines, and skeletal beats. listen for yourself... the repetition and shifting is rather infectious :)

AFX - Hangable Auto Bulb
for a blog whose two biggest tags are "experimental" and "electronic", i thing its a bit insane that i have not yet posted anything by aphex twin or his side projects since yesterday :p
anyways, to continue the trend, here is some drum machine noisyness and, believe it or not, drum and bass and break abuse (!) from one of richard d james' other projects, afx
