this has been one of my favorite albums for a while, i should have posted it sooner :S

lush atmospheric soundscapes and amazing beats... it reminds me of an instrumental clark mixed with ambient brian eno. quite alien, but so comforting that you can't help being relaxed by it.

sorry for my long absence, i was on a cruise (!)

here is some classic (and classy) aphex-esque idm (the artist was/is friends with richard (d) james, from what i have heard). all song on this album are great, and many (with a few drum-machine exceptions) show a great amount of effort splicing and juggling and destroying old funk loops. this album is a wonderful example of what some early english idm was like, and why it was so great :)

Igorrr - Poisson Soluble

igorrr's second feature here, this album has less death metal influences (though it still has the occasional growling voice), drawing more on the complex drum programming of braindance artists like the flashbulb and venetian snares, but throwing in classical elements and instruments as well. very different then the other album, but still very enjoyable!

AFX - Hangable Auto Bulb

for a blog whose two biggest tags are "experimental" and "electronic", i thing its a bit insane that i have not yet posted anything by aphex twin or his side projects since yesterday :p

The Teknoist - ...Like A Hurricane Made Of Zombies

i dunno this album maybe has THE BEST NAME EVER? and i am using caps, which is kinda a big deal. anyways, the music itself is a nice blend of breakcore and death metal, it's what the kids these days would call "totally hardcore, dudeeee".

Frog Pocket - Come on Primates, Show Your Teeth!

i personally love this album cover so freaking much. but its not just the cover. inside, there is an album structured not unlike that of drukqs by aphex twin, harsh and coarse breakbeats surrounded by lush soundscapes and minimalist acoustic solo tracks. however, there are some distinctions. the acoustic tracks are varied, one of them being a stringed instrument plucked with painfully strong dynamics (read: the strings gonna snap), others feature pretty ambient wind instruments and textures. the tracks with breaks are often orchestral, often creepy, and always have amazing rhythm (and odd times, of course. you know how much i love me some odd time signatures). i have heard the album as a whole described by someone on the internet as "music to murder someone to".

p.s. this song is in 10/8, just like the famous theme of "mission impossible" :3

Hrvatski - Swarm & Dither

this blog's second hrvatski album, and thusly it's first repeat feature (i like hrvatski, k?). from the adorable text to speech song "vatstep dsp" to the atmospheric scaryness that lurks throughout the album, this is really a piece you have to listen through from the beginning.

Bomb 20 - Field Manual

ok, even i can't come up with a good genre to call this. some odd mix of breakcore, noise, and soundcollage? i have no idea. but it is freaking amazing.

The Avalanches - Since I Left You

man, I guess I am in a found-samples mood today. ok, i guess today is found-sample day. anyways, the avalanches use pretty much only samples, and they are from everywhereeeee in the music world. seriously, i only recognize, like, 2 of them. anyways they have a very good sense of melody, and their choices of samples are amazing. keep in mind these are pretty much only musical samples, nothing like the books, who use samples from pretty much anything. ok enjoy the music.
