Marconi Union - A Lost Connection

man, it's a bit more than half a month since i last updated! i realize that i am pretty freaking awful at this "daily" thing, hehe. maybe i should rename it noise weekly? idunno, it's becoming harder and harder to find albums that i haven't already posted :s

hopefully you enjoy this one, its glitchy idm with some ambient/acoustic/house elements... i guess you could call it downtempo? who knows, but it's nice, hehe

Brian Eno - Ambient 1: Music for Airports

eno has been posted here once before, but that was when he was still doing glam rock and such... this is one of the most classic ambient albums ever made, and it is pretty much impossible not to relax to it :p

it was created to be played in airports, where eno described the atmosphere as "tense and non-inspiring", so it is supposed to be calming and unobtrusive, which i think he certainly accomplished!

Giraffes? Giraffes! - More Skin With Milk-Mouth

i have posted other albums from the side projects of "giraffes? giraffes!" but this is the first feature of their main project. this album cover is rather... intense? anyways, this was one of my first math rock albums, and i still really love it. i find it amazing that the entire album is a just a two piece band, one guitarist and one drummer, both very skilled at their instruments. i highly recommend this album to any fan of math rock, or experimental rock in general.

Battles - Atlas

one of my first math rock albums, looking back (which shows how young i am, heh), but it was also, at the same time, and introduction to space rock, pitch shifting, alternate tunings, and looping jams. maybe its just nostalgia, but i still freakin' love the crazyness (even if they did "sell out" by going on the twilight movie soundtrack)
